What people are saying.

  • Emmy has been graciously gifted with the beautiful ability to channel the divine. She is a powerhouse of passion, wealth of knowledge, and every woman’s biggest cheerleader. I’m am thankful beyond words for her presence in my life. Emmy was a godsend in my birth, so much so that I told her I would never do it again without her. A true advocate for autonomous, physiological birth. The empowered birth workshop helped me break down all the lessons from my first birth and I feel confident that if I am lucky enough to birth again I can do so in full autonomy and advocate for myself to the fullest extent. 12/10 highly recommend connecting with Emmy if you are a first time mom, hoping to conceive, are questioning your current provider, have self doubt or low confidence in your innate birth power, had a traumatic birth you are looking for redemption from, or literally ANYone within arms distance of the birth world. THANK YOU Emmy, I love you!!

  • Emmy💖🙏🏼 that was truly such an incredible workshop & day. I released so much, consciously and subconsciously - and feel sooooo much more empowered & informed and calm in my body. Connecting with the women was also a much needed experience. All pregnant/soon to be pregnant moms need this. My nervous system feels so different being back at home. So much more trust and ease in my body. Feeling so excited and ready for labor now!! Thank you so much.

  • “From the moment I found out I was pregnant with baby #2, I knew I wanted to try for a VBAC. Everything that I read about having a successful VBAC said to hire a doula. When I first met Emmy, I knew she would be a perfect fit for my VBAC needs and wants. She educated my husband and I through her birthing class and answered all of my questions about natural childbirth (and I had a lot).
She spent more time with me in person and over the phone than I think any other doula would. She reassured me after my OB appointments and was there for my start of early labor, which started the whole day before. I was able to carry out 99% of my needs and wants because of Emmy. I did it, we did it! Emmy helped me have my medicine free, intervention free VBAC with my son. She was my rock in the hospital and I owe the entire amazing experience all to her. I could not have done it without her.”

  • I was referred to Emmy through a Facebook group and I didn’t really know what to expect. I experienced pretty severe birth trauma and gaslighting and I felt led to process with someone. I am still very much in process, but from our first meeting, I know a (good) snowball effect has taken place in unraveling my birth trauma. Emmy deeply cares about not only the work she does, but the people she helps. She is shifting a narrative of pain to a healing narrative of hope. I feel deeply supported and listened to and I know that she is helping me on my path to reintegrating the trauma that happened during my birth. Her energy is magnetic and her confidence is contagious. I am so grateful and I am looking forward to all that is to come.

  • That workshop was truly so amazing, Emmy!!!! Thank you so so so much. I feel so empowered for my next birth and finally EXCITED for it vs. expecting the same thing will happen to me again. I feel like I can finally fulllllyyy trust that it won’t happen again. Thank you for doing what you do

  • “Emmy was so amazing during my labor, she knew exactly when and how to progress me and how to tell me to breathe, she massaged my back between contractions which felt amazing. She knew when to call in the midwives and they came when I was a 9, so there were never too many people around during labor. She set a calming zen mood to the room and bathroom with flameless candles and a good playlist. She knew what to expect every step of the way and is very used to all the bodily fluids, so no need to worry or be squirming about that. Believe me they’ve all seen it all! She gave me water and electrolytes the whole time and fed me bites of things when she thought I might need it, she even cooked me an omelette when it was all said and done. Emmy was amazing at knowing what I needed without voicing it and I had an amazing birth because of her. She taught me what to advocate for or what to listen for, we did a home birth and the team was aligned on what I wanted and everything thankfully went according to plan! I had a wonderful, natural birth at home and hope to do it again with Emmy”

  • Prior to knowing Emmy, I had my first 2 babies in the hospital. Emmy helped me see how amazing homebirth could be for my 3rd baby. She is a wealth of knowledge and guided me throughout my entire pregnancy! She not only served as an advocate on my behalf, but empowered me to advocate for myself and helped me navigate circumstances that would arise. I learned so much from Emmy. Through her education, support and guidance, I learned to trust my body and I felt so strong and confident delivering my baby at home.

  • “We used Emmy as our doula and found that she goes above and beyond for her clients. She was extremely available for questions throughout my pregnancy and postpartum as well. She is highly passionate and knowledgeable about this field. She remained with us through my prolonged labor and made sure I stayed comfortable. She helped us talk through every decision that needed to be made. The cherry on top is that she provided us with a beautiful & sentimental birth video and took some adorable newborn photos for us as well. Thank you, Emmy, for all you’ve done for our family!”

  • “As a soon to be first time mom, I was clueless and had a lot of anxiety about birth. I now find myself much more prepared and even EXCITED to endure all of it. Emmy is very knowledgeable and reassuring. She had answers for all of our questions and her energy was contagious. Highly recommend her childbirth class!”

  • “We were on the fence at first about hiring a doula, but at the suggestion of our midwife we decided to make the investment. Emmy came highly regarded from a close personal friend, and after our first zoom call, I knew she was a hell yes.
There’s so much I could say about our experience with Emmy. From the very start, she was the best investment we made for my pregnancy and labor/delivery. Emmy is relatable, hilarious, intuitive, and incredibly knowledgeable about all things pregnancy, labor, and breastfeeding.
She’s everything we wanted and needed in a doula, and I say we, because her presence at my birth allowed my husband to support me exactly how I needed while Emmy handled getting me into all the best positions for active labor and giving me all the hip squeezes. Looking back, I cannot imagine my birth without Emmy.”

  • “Emmy was my breastfeeding counselor and got us through those challenging first couple of months of breastfeeding. When we first got home from the hospital my newborn struggled with latching. Emmy came to my house and showed me some better positions and techniques that solved our issues. She is very knowledgeable and great to work with. We are still breastfeeding at 6 months, and I know I could not have gotten this far without her support!”

  • “I’m sitting here successfully nursing my 3 month old after a disheartening and stressful 3 weeks of her refusing to feed from my breast. I had recently returned to work and struggled to make pumping times and was away from my 2 month old for 8-10 hours a day. At first, when she didn’t want to nurse, I didn’t think anything of it. I thought maybe she wasn’t hungry. I eventually noticed she was literally rejecting my breast. If they got anywhere near her face, she would scream in frustration. I made me so sad because I wanted to bond with her. I knew she was nourished because she was taking the bottle. I had seen Emmy’s posts on facebook about her certifications and how she was helping other women so I reached out. I was embarrassed about such a personal issue, but immediately felt her support for my cause! She was at my house within 2 days to observe and try a bunch of different solutions. At the end of the day we worked on a plan and she was there to check on me and encourage me to keep going. She was my coach and genuinely cared and understood what this meant to me and didn’t give up on me either. I highly recommend every breastfeeding mother who is struggling to hire Emmy as their BF counselor.”

  • “Emmy had posted some information about her doula services in our neighborhood page and at the time, I noted it and kept on scrolling my feed since I had already given birth to my daughter and thought that was not a service I needed. As it turns out, my daughter has FPIES which restricts her from consuming any dairy products whatsoever. On top of that, I had just started a new job, and needed to wean my daughter for other reasons. In the midst of the stress, I remembered what Emmy had said (and we had since met her in the neighborhood park!) and asked for help. My daughter was not taking a bottle and I was becoming exponentially more concerned as the days passed that she was not getting enough to eat. I shot Emmy a note and she replied immediately with detailed options to try to get my daughter to warm up to a bottle (even though the hypo-allergenic stuff tastes terrible!). We went back and forth for a while and then Emmy even offered to stop by and visit with my daughter to observe a feeding. Our process was just not working, the pediatrician wasn't any help, and I really did not know where to turn. She provided additional suggestions, was extremely encouraging, and I am truly blessed to have met Emmy. Joan was drinking from her bottle (9 oz. at a time!) that same day. Emmy's guidance, that we gratefully accepted and followed, really turned around a situation that could have caused health problems for my daughter. I highly recommend Emmy to expecting parents and parents with any number of little ones that would like guidance from someone who genuinely wants to be helpful, has extensive knowledge in her area of expertise, and who has a kind, empathetic demeanor.”

  • “We had originally planned a midwife, water birth, at home; that didn't work out as we moved and couldn't locate a midwife available for us! After attending Emmy's course, we feel so much more prepared for a natural birth in a hospital. This will be our 3rd child, but our first natural. We had many fears due to today's hospital experiences with Covid and all; but Emmy was able to put us at ease, help us build a birth plan, help us understand what we can do and bring at the hospital (which we had no clue of with our other two births). She provided us with a hospital bag list, that we took full advantage of gathering the items and feel confident in what we are bringing will prepare us for a successful birth and postpartum experience! The breastfeeding course was also extremely helpful as I've had two very upsetting breastfeeding journeys and now feel that this one will be much more successful. We learned more in two days of 3 hour courses than we did with either of our previous deliveries and experiences. We are so thankful for Emmy and her continued assistance after the course! We cannot imagine someone better to be informing expectant parents of this information!”

  • The term doula was something we knew little about. Once we did our research we started to see the benefits a doula could offer. We reached out to Emmy and luckily she was available to take us in. Emmy was not only with us during labor but she actually was all in on the early labor part. My wife was having strong contractions on Halloween night. At midnight Emmy was there and worked with her until they were gone around 3am. Fast forward one more day it was time for us to be omitted to the labor room. What happened next was we saw Emmy pull out a bag of tricks to make sure my wife was as comfortable as she could be. Working nine plus hours and into the early morning, Emmy created this environment where we always felt at ease during those strong contractions. Together they put on a show for the ages. Emmy’s character and prowess is everything you want and dream about when opting for natural birth. The knowledge that Emmy brought us and continues to bring us postpartum is everything we need. I will always recommend a doula to our family and friends from here on out.

  • “To say that Emmy is a great doula is an understatement. She was there for my husband and I every single moment. We didn’t know how much we needed her until we needed her. My birth plan didn’t go anywhere near according to plan and she seriously helped us come to terms with decisions we had to make. Her energy is amazing, her knowledge is boundless, and she truly cares.”

    -Kim D

  • “Having Emmy as our doula was such a key part of our healing VBAC. She was very supportive through every stage, from our first zoom call, to the delivery.
Having a baby in the midst of all the uncertainties of a pandemic was scary, but Emmy was there to reassure us, inform us, help us focus on our birth, and most importantly, help us have the best possible experience bringing our baby to this world.
I had the best experience and a successful unmedicated vbac in a hospital, with the help of Emmy (and her wonderful hot massagista hands). I’m not sure what I’d have done without her knowledge, hot hand compresses on my back, and her uplifting spirits.
She was ready to advocate for us when time came and both my husband and I can’t recommend her enough.”

    -Taila W

  • “I cannot say enough wonderful things about Emmy. Being pregnant and giving birth in the midst of a pandemic when face-to-face interactions were scarce, Emmy made sure to be always available. She gave me so much confidence in my ability to not only have a successful delivery, but even a fun one! She was always just seconds away with a reply to any concerns I was having about pregnancy. She taught me to accurately read all the signs in anticipation of going into labor. I was so confident, that I was able to successfully labor at home with my husband for more than 48 hours before heading to the hospital where labor and delivery went absolutely perfectly. As if this weren’t enough, she has been such an incredible resource, and wealth of knowledge, offering ongoing support as I continue my journey through motherhood and breastfeeding.”

  • “I met Emmy through a friend and she has been a Godsend! She helped me navigate the early days with my newborn, gave lots of postpartum and lactation tips, and provided me with great information that’s easy to reference when I need it. She even went out of her way to visit me at home and brought gifts! She is an amazing, caring person, with super great vibes, wisdom, and personality! I am so glad to know she is there for me if I need help.”

    -Daria

  • “My husband and I were lucky enough to schedule our Childbirth Education course with Emmy. This is our first baby so childbirth is brand new territory for us! Emmy did a wonderful job navigating how to best deliver such important information in a joyful yet practical manner. Her passion for the entire birthing process shined throughout the class which left my husband and I excited, humbled and calm about the upcoming birth. She has so much experience, personally and professionally, which contributes to the depth and value of the class. I would recommend taking Emmy's class to anyone at any stage of their pregnancy looking to feel grounded, prepared and excited for birth!”

    -Ali W

  • “Emmy was quite valuable in helping my husband and I prepare for our first child. She is incredibly knowledgeable in all aspects of childbirth. During her classes it was great to have her perspective on what she has seen locally in a hospital rather than textbook advice. Our biggest takeaway was how we can be advocates for ourselves and our baby. We would highly recommend her classes!”
