GET EMPOWERED💗GET ENLIGHTENED💗GET EDUCATED

My goal is to change the way birth is viewed. I want to stop the trauma that is associated with childbirth, and I believe the way to do this is by educating women properly. I have found that the more educated a mother is going into childbirth, the better her birth outcome and the closer she can stick to her birth plan. As a doula, I have created a childbirth education series geared toward natural childbirth, but with an education emphasized on how to prepare and help your body along in labor and risks associated with interventions. This way if you end up in a hospital or are choosing to give birth in one, you will know how to properly advocate for yourself.

AVOID SUPPLY ISSUES BY SETTING YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS AT THE VERY BEGINNING!

As a lactation counselor I have helped many women who have had trouble breastfeeding. The story of “I wasn’t able to produce enough” became far too common to be true. I dug deeper in all my clients and I found that the women who were experiencing supply drop at the 6 week or 6 month mark were doing a few things that actually contributed to this. Yes breastfeeding should be a very instinctual and natural thing, however, we have to signal to the body how much milk to provide the baby. This is supply and demand. Many 1st time moms do not know how to navigate the supply and demand stage of breastfeeding due to exhaustion and a sleepy newborn. Use my course as a “guide” to help you better understand how you can set your supply up from the get go! Once you and baby have developed a good routine, begin to feel into your instincts. I will say, going longer than 3 hours between feeds (even at night) and doing short feeds (sleepy baby) in the first 12 weeks is the biggest reason I see a supply drop in women. So take the course to see how you can navigate these challenges as they may arise and always reach out if you need to schedule a one on one appointment to help you. Support is the biggest factor in your breastfeeding journey and I am here for you.
